Power your day with these low carb hemp protein brownie bites! Naturally sweetened, gluten free, vegan, paleo and oh so amazing. These hemp protein brownie bites taste just like dessert but are clean enough to have ANYTIME!

I just can’t kick my chocolate habit, and I’ve decided that is ok. No more sweetened chocolate by the handful for me though, that I can stick to (or my workout pants won’t fit much longer). Chocolate has been the one thing that I struggle with. Having bags of chocolate morsels and chocolate chips for when I’m recipe testing makes it so easy to stand in the pantry eating handfuls of these little babies at a time.

Not in line with my goals. Nope not a bit. But these hemp protein brownie bites, well they are solving my chocolate fix desires with less calories than my usual chocolate afternoon fix. Oh and they are full of protein, fiber and healthy fats. Can you say AMAZING!

I’ve had the same bag of hemp protein in the pantry for 3 months. I just can’t get around to cooking with it because it’s flavorless and GREEN. Who wants green food. But I stopped in at a local juice bar and they had chocolate hemp protein milk and instantly I knew I just had to recreate that for post workout recovery. I’ll share that recipe soon because OMG it’s so good and perfect. But what I discovered was that chocolate covers that green color very well and because the hemp protein doesn’t have any flavor, the chocolate shines through like a charm!

INGREDIENTS :

  • ⅔ cups hemp protein
  • ⅓ cup raw cacao
  • 4 packets of stevia powder
  • 2 tbs. chia seeds
  • ⅓ cup plus 1 tbs. applesauce
  • 3 tbs. coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbs. coconut sugar (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS :

  1. Combine the hemp protein powder, raw cacao and stevia in a bowl.
  2. Add chia seeds and apple sacue and stir well.
  3. Add in melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, salt and coconut sugar.
  4. Stir well until combined and the mixture is “wet”
  5. Form into 1 tbs. sized bites using the palm of your hand to form balls.
  6. Keep cold, store in the fridge.
